Communication from Centrist Democratic International (IDC-CDI) on the event currently taking place in Venezuela

CENTRIST DEMOCRAT INTERNATIONAL, in view of the events transpiring in Venezuela, and honouring its duty, as set forth in its bylaws, to defend freedom, democracy and human rights around the world, hereby expresses its absolute support for representative JUAN GUAIDÓ, who, in accordance with the Constitution in force in his country, Venezuela, and given the vacancy in the Presidency of the Republic produced by what is a spurious and illegitimate government, has taken office as Interim President of the Republic of Venezuela.

The IDC-CDI supports and congratulates those democratic governments that have recognised MR GUAIDÓ as the legitimate President of Venezuela, and encourages those countries that have not yet done so, as well as the European Union, to express their support for the formation of a government that will convoke free elections as part of this great nation’s journey back to democracy.
